Berry FroYo Bites
It’s that time of year y’all…..the HEAT is back in Texas! It’s only May but there are already 100 degree days in our weather forecast. That’s why I’m excited to share this new recipe for berry frozen yogurt cups.
This is an easy snack made with wholesome yogurt and fresh berries, frozen in mini muffin cups. If you love going to the Fro-Yo stand for a summer treat, you’ve got to try this! These little bite-size frozen yogurt treats are not only easy and tasty, but they’re actually pretty healthy too!
Each of these frozen yogurt bites contains just 14 calories and boasts 1 gram of protein (which is quite a bit of protein for such a small portion!) It’s the perfect summer snack when you’re craving ice cream but want something healthier. And kids love it too! This makes it a total winner in my book!

Instructions
- Scoop yogurt into the cupcake liners, until they are 3/4 of the way full. You can also use silicone ice cube trays.
- Place a couple berries in each cup, gently pressing them partially into the yogurt so they’ll stay in place when frozen.
- Once all the muffin cups are filled, place them on a baking sheet and put the pan into the freezer for 2-3 hours.
- When ready to enjoy, remove cups from freezer and peel away the cupcake liners.
Prep Tips
- Yield – When using miniature muffin cups, this recipe will make about 18 yogurt bites. Using standard size muffin cups will also work, you’ll just end up with fewer servings.
- Yogurt – You can use any type of yogurt for this recipe! Greek Yogurt works quite well because it is rich and creamy in texture. If using plain yogurt, you may want to stir in a Tablespoon of honey or maple syrup for a hint of natural sweetness and better flavor.
- Fruit – Blueberries and raspberries are a good size for these muffin-sized frozen yogurt cups. However, you could also use chopped strawberries, blackberries or even other types of fruit, such as kiwi.
- Mix-ins – This is an easily customizable recipe, for different occasions or using foods you already have on hand. Both granola or mini chocolate chips are fun additions!
- Dairy-Free Version – Simply use dairy-free yogurt or plant based yogurt to make this a nondairy sweet treat. Sweetened coconut yogurt is a great way to make this a vegan and dairy-free recipe.
- Storage – Keep frozen until ready to serve. If you’re planning to make these ahead of time, place the frozen yogurt cups inside a large freezer bag or freezer-safe food storage container. They can stay frozen for up to 2 months.
