All you need are two ingredients to make these perfectly chewy cookies with a cute fall pumpkin on top!
These cute cookies have been alllll over social media lately so I wanted to see if they really are THAT easy to make.
Here’s the scoop:
These 2-ingredient Halloween cookies are made with refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough and Pillsbury Pumpkin Shapes Sugar Cookie Dough and/or Ghost Shapes Sugar Cookie Dough.
Both types of doughs are already made for you, so you just layer them on a cookie sheet and bake them. The cookies meld together in the oven and the result is a super cute little pumpkin on the cookie surface.
What I love about this recipe is that you don’t have to be an expert baker to make them. This recipe is literally foolproof! There’s no measuring, no mixing, and no way to mess them up! This is also a fantastic baking project to make with little kids because they can help layer the cookies easily.
They taste just likeย home-baked cookies…without all the work! Even the busiest families can make these cookies…ask me how I know!
If you’re looking for a yummy addition to dessert time this fall or Halloween, this recipe is a winner!

Prep Tips
- Where To Find – Both of the ingredients used in this recipe are refrigerator cookie dough, so they will be available in the refrigerated section of your local grocery store, not the dry goods shelves.
- Yield – There are 20 cookie portions in the Pillsbury sugar cookie dough packages that we used and are pictured here. So the exact number of cookies baked will depend on how much chocolate chip cookie dough you have (as those package sizes can vary by brand). We used “value size” which has 30 servings, so we made 20 cookies. You may have leftover chocolate chip cookie dough, or yours might be extra thick and chewy depending on how thick you cut the slices of dough.
- Storage – Keep cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. You can also freeze cookies in a large freezer bag for up to 2-3 months.
- Variations – If you can’t find this exact pumpkin shape cookie dough in stores, you can look for something similar by another brand. There is alsoย Pillsbury sugar cookie dough in ghost designs if you want to mix things up and have different Halloween cookie designs.
- More Fun – You can use these festive cookies to make the ultimate Halloween themed cookie ice cream sandwiches! You can also use them to make your Halloween dessert table look extra special!
