Take a trip to the islands without leaving your backyard! These sweet Grilled Hawaiian Steak Skewers are a quick and easy main course perfect for a summer barbecue or a weeknight dinner. Sponsored by Shipt.
Steak kabobs are one of my all-time favorite meals, but they can be hit or miss when you order at a restaurant. Mainly because you don’t know exactly what kind of meat you’re getting or how it’s going to be cooked.
Fortunately, it’s easy to make your own delicious steak skewers at home! For this recipe we used a top cut of sirloin, so the end result is like eating a tender juicy steak — on a stick! (No steak knife necessary!) The tropical marinade and sweet grilled pineapples make the whole experience a vacation for your taste buds.
Easy Grilled Hawaiian Steak Skewers
Ingredients
- 2 lbs steak*
- grape tomatoes
- pineapple cubes
*Note — We used sirloin for our kabobs, but you can use just about any type of steak your prefer. You could even substitute chicken to switch things up!
For the marinade:
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
Directions
Trim steak and cut into strips about 4-6″ long and 1/2″ thick.
Whisk together marinade ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Place steak strips into marinade, making sure to fully coat meat. Allow to rest in fridge for 10-15 minutes for meat to absorb the flavor.
While steak marinates, chop pineapple into cubes, about 1″ square. Wash and dry grape tomatoes.
Spear steak strips lengthwise onto kabob skewers. Follow with a grape tomato and pineapple cube.
Grill for 8-12 minutes, flipping skewers halfway through.
Time Saving Tips for Hosting Summer Parties
Keep it simple — Sometimes when we are playing the host, we feel the need to go all out to impress our guests. However, good food doesn’t have to be complicated, and it’s hard to beat grilled meat and veggies!
Skip the store — I don’t know about you, but for me, grocery shopping often takes more time than the actual cooking! A grocery delivery service like Shipt saves time, gas, and the headache of fighting store crowds (especially around holidays!)
How it works: The user-friendly Shipt mobile app connects you with vetted, reliable shoppers in your area who do the legwork for you. Your grocery list arrives fresh from your local retailer in as little as one hour!
How much does it cost? My first thought was that a delivery service would be too pricey to be practical. However, with Shipt, delivery is FREE on member orders over $35.* You pay for an annual membership, similar to a membership at a big warehouse store. Except with Shipt someone else does the shopping for you!
Right now an annual Shipt membership is only $99 — which is totally worth the time and stress you’ll save! CLICK HERE to try Shipt FREE for 2 weeks and get $15 off your first order.
*Individual item prices through Shipt may vary slightly from in-store prices.
