Holiday Ornament Cocktail

Take your holiday bartending to the next level with these absolutely beautiful Christmas ornament cocktails! They’re almost too pretty to drink…almost!

We filled our ornaments with a simple Christmas mimosa recipe, but you can use your favorite holiday cocktail recipe instead. I’ve listed some of my favorites later on in this post. I also have a White Christmas Mimosa recipe that would be fabulous too!

Christmas mimosas swap out traditional orange juice with cranberry juice, which is a classic holiday flavor. They are also a beautiful red color that will match all of your Christmas decor.

This is a Christmas party idea that is sure to wow your guests!

  • Wash and thoroughly rinse the inside and outside of the ornaments. Remove the metal toppers.
  • Place a few fresh cranberries inside the ball for garnish.
  • Fill halfway with champagne, then fill the remainder with cranberry juice.
  • Place a sprig of fresh rosemary and a paper straw inside.

Prep Tips

  • To keep the drinks cool, I recommend making them when you’re ready to serve. They are easy and won’t take too much time!
  • Another way to keep them cool is to place the ornaments on ice.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Keep The Ornament From Tipping Over?

There are a couple ways to serve these cute little cocktails that will prevent them from rolling or tipping over:

  • Place the filled ornament inside an empty martini glass. Guests can pour their drink into the martini glass and the ornament is simply a vessel.
  • Use a hot glue gun to draw a circle on the bottom of the ornament. When dry, this ring of glue will keep the ornament standing upright. You could also glue a clear plastic rock (like the kind used for a fish tank) to the back/bottom of the ornament, kind of like a kickstand.

Is It Safe To Drink Out Of Plastic?

There are definitely strong opinions on this one, from those who refuse to drink out of ANY plastic at all, to those who drink out of anything.

Generally, it shouldn’t be an issue because the liquids aren’t staying inside the ornaments long-term and we are washing them first. However, if you have concerns about the type of plastic, look for ornaments that are labeled non-BPA or look for these resin codes which are considered safer: #2 HDPE, #4 LDPE, and #5 PP.

Another alternative is to use glass ornaments and be extra careful about how you serve them, as glass is of course more breakable.
