Frequently Asked Questions
How Do I Keep The Ornament From Tipping Over?
There are a couple ways to serve these cute little cocktails that will prevent them from rolling or tipping over:
- Place the filled ornament inside an empty martini glass. Guests can pour their drink into the martini glass and the ornament is simply a vessel.
- Use a hot glue gun to draw a circle on the bottom of the ornament. When dry, this ring of glue will keep the ornament standing upright. You could also glue a clear plastic rock (like the kind used for a fish tank) to the back/bottom of the ornament, kind of like a kickstand.
Is It Safe To Drink Out Of Plastic?
There are definitely strong opinions on this one, from those who refuse to drink out of ANY plastic at all, to those who drink out of anything.
Generally, it shouldn’t be an issue because the liquids aren’t staying inside the ornaments long-term and we are washing them first. However, if you have concerns about the type of plastic, look for ornaments that are labeled non-BPA or lookย for these resin codes which are considered safer: #2 HDPE, #4 LDPE, and #5 PP.
Another alternative is to use glass ornaments and be extra careful about how you serve them, as glass is of course more breakable.
