Inside: A drool-worthy combination of crispy and sticky-sweet on the outside and tender on the inside. These honey chipotle wings are a killer appetizer recipe!
WINGS!!
That’s the answer you’ll get 10 times out of 10 if you ask my husband his favorite food. So it is about time that he shares his finger-lickin’ Honey Chipotle Wings recipe with the world!
I am a huge football fan, and wings are a staple of any respectable game day party. I’ve got to say that these wings rival any you’d find at a restaurant — they’re the perfect combination of crispy and sticky-sweet on the outside and tender on the inside.
The best part about this recipe is that it is super easy. My mom and I actually made this batch for my husband while he was at work. Trust me when I say that if I can make these wings and have them turn out amazing, then anyone can!
Honey Chipotle Wings Ingredients:
- 1-2 lbs chicken winglettes
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp chipotle powder
How to make Honey Chipotle Wings:
STEP ONE: Preheat oven to 400°F. In a mixing bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup honey, 1/2 cup buffalo sauce, and 1 tsp garlic powder until well combined.
STEP TWO: Dip wings one-by-one in sauce until fully coated. Place on a foil-lined baking sheet so they are not touching each other.
Tip: Pat wings dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture before dipping in sauce. This will help the sauce stick better.
STEP THREE: In a separate bowl, stir together salt and chipotle powder. Sprinkle a pinch of this mixture on each of the wings.
STEP FOUR: Bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping wings halfway through. Oven temperatures and cooking times may vary, so watch wings closely at the end and remove from oven when they are the desired crispiness. This may be longer than our cooking time if you like your wings extra-crispy.
We whipped up an extra batch of honey chipotle sauce to pour over our cooked wings. (You don’t want to re-use the sauce that you dipped the raw chicken in).
My secret to make game day (or every day) shopping a breeze
I picked up all the ingredients for this recipe at my local Walmart. And when I say “picked up,” I mean just that — Walmart has a new grocery pickup service that is seriously the best thing ever!!
You simply place an order online, set your desired pickup time and location, then cruise on over to Walmart and they bring your groceries out to your car. There are bright signs that lead the way, you can’t miss them!
No searching for a parking spot, no waiting in line, no getting kids in and out of the car. Walmart’s grocery pickup is perfect for grabbing groceries when you’re in a hurry…or if like me, going to the store is not your favorite activity.
The best part? There’s no fee for the extra convenience — you get the same low prices using Walmart’s online grocery pickup that you would if you went in the store. So why not save time too?
Now through 11/1/16, you’ll save $10 off your first online grocery order of $50 or more! CLICK HERE to find a Walmart pickup location near you and get started! It’s such an awesome service…I’m hooked!
